I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004.

Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

Today was state, I ran in the two mile. I ran a 12:55. My leg didn't hurt at all during the race. I thought it was better but it hurts a little bit tonight so it probably needs a little more rest. I was happy with my race because I ran faster than I did at region and I broke 13 which I only did once as a freshman. I can't feel bad about my race considering my compression fracture and the fact that I haven't trained in 7 weeks. Now I can't wait for it to get better so I can get back in shape. If it doesn't hurt this week and I'm able to run, I think I will run magna, but I'll just have to wait and see.

Nice race. But any race 5k and under should count towards VO2max miles. VO2max is when you are at or very near 100% max heart rate. Threshold pace is the pace that you should be able to race for about 1 hour. Good luck with your injury.
